“The Awards provide a practical example of the way in which businesses can demonstrate their engagement through their participation in specific programmes and their overall impact on society.
One of the major challenges for business engagement in corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the future will be how they can make CSR a part of their mainstream activities. The Awards for Excellence are a valuable means of taking this work forward.
As Minister for CSR I regard work in this area as a journey on which businesses engage - rather than merely a justification for a business’s activities. The Awards for Excellence provide a valuable signpost on this journey.”
Douglas Alexander MP,
Minister of State for E-Commerce and Competitiveness |
