Department of Trade and Industry is the UK government department which aims "to increase competitiveness and scientific excellence in order to generate higher levels of sustainable growth and productivity in a modern economy." European Commission in the UK has a general article on the single currency explaining current and key issues.
Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), is responsible for overseas relations and foreign affairs. The section Britain and the EU - provides information on aspects of government policy in the EU.

Campaigns against the euro
No-Euro.com - a campaign which agrees that the UK should participate in Europe but rejects joining the euro. You can keep up-to-date with the news, look up publications and delve into the archives.

Labour Euro-Safeguards Campaign - (LESC) is opposed to the UK joining the euro.

Britain in Europe was launched on October 14 1999 by a cross-party coalition including Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Ken Clarke and Charles Kennedy. The group is campaigning "for a strong Britain in a strong Europe and putting the case for the single currency". Resources include information on what would happen to your business, your job and household if we did not join the euro.

Banks
The Bank of England is the UK's central bank. "Practical issues arising from the euro" is a series of booklets, providing information on the development of euro-denominated financial markets, financial services and the supporting financial infrastructure.
The Royal Bank of Scotland has a section of its website dedicated to EMU. The sector factsheets cover farming, hotels, retail and solicitors.
