Really this would depend on the type of organisation you are, i.e. whether you are set up as a limited company or partnership etc, and the type of relationship you currently have with your clients. Gathering key shareholders or distinct customer groups together at events is one successful contact strategy. If they are targeted with the right messages it will have resonance with that customer audience. Alternatively you could use your existing method of communication with your clients to ask them how they would like to be contacted in the future.
